Accessibility statement
Last updated: 22/10/2026
Our goal
This website should be easy for everyone to use – including with a screen reader, magnification or the keyboard alone. We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We make this statement voluntarily; as an association we are not obliged to provide accessibility under the BITV or the German Accessibility Strengthening Act.
Compliance status
The website is largely compliant with WCAG 2.2 AA. This is based on a self-assessment during development (testing with keyboard, screen reader, magnification up to 400% and contrast measurement). An assessment by an independent body is still pending.
What we do to achieve this
• Large, easy-to-read text and strong contrasts; everything can be enlarged via the browser. • Full keyboard operation, visible focus, "Skip to content". • Opening status always as text, not just as colour. • The map always has an equivalent list next to or below it. • Images have descriptions, forms have clear labels and error messages. • Six languages, Arabic with right-to-left reading direction.
What is not yet accessible
• The PDF documents from the previous website (statutes, contribution regulations, paper membership application, SEPA direct debit mandate) are not accessible. You can submit the membership application accessibly via the online form; we will send you the other content in another format on request. • The translations into other languages are machine-generated and may contain errors; the German version is binding. • Information provided by member facilities (e.g. image descriptions) is maintained by the facilities themselves; there may be gaps.
